Archaeology
Shama Resource Center Contributor :
Saturday classes will be open to all those who desires to advance their knowledge in
archaeology, biblical history and culture.

The lead Professor will bring very insightful classes.

They will be using archaeology to examine evidence of the historical accuracy of the
Bible. From the stories of Joseph in Egypt to David in Canaan to the parables of Jesus,
they will use artifacts and slides to portray life during Biblical times.

First Session:
During the first session will examine Egypt’s role in Bible history. From housing, to
medicine, to diet and work, artifacts and pictures will illustrate the Bible record.
Some of the highlights will include the story of the 7-year famine, and how evidence
outside the Bible is finally confirming the Hebrew sojourn and enslavement.

The store houses of Joseph, the enslavement of the Hebrews, the intrigue surrounding
the adoption of Moses by Pharaoh’s daughter, and the Exodus itself will be examined.

Second Session:
The second session will cover some of the most common Biblical stories through the
use of artifacts. The parable of the virgins, the changing of the water to wine at Cana,
and the evidence for Jesus that exists outside the Bible will all be examined.

Some of the artifacts that will be shown include a perfume flask from the time of
Abraham, lamps from the time of Esther, and amphora (wine jar) from the time of
Christ, and tomb goods from the time of Joseph.
